The rise of the St Vincent's Junior Footballers continued last Saturday afternoon as they claimed the Dublin Junior 'A' Football Championship following a classic encounter against Craobh Chiaráin in Parnell Park.

The Marino outfit showed admirable reserves of courage as they overcame a seven-point deficit and a numerical disadvantage to eventually prevail by 5-5 to 2-12 by the final whistle, much to the delight of manager Johnny Lambe.

"We are delighted to come through and we kept at it which was very pleasing with some of the things that we worked on in the second-half helping hugely.

"The lads are very used to winning and the fact that we haven't been beaten in a long time probably told in the end," he added.

Lambe's charges remain in the hunt for their third successive league title.

And after celebrating Saturday's wonderful success, their attention will now turn to securing promotion to Division 4 of the Adult Football League.

"We have a league to finish off and the belief that the lads will gain from winning today should help them as we prepare for our final four league matches," added Lambe.
