REFS ON THE BALL

I would not always be the biggest fan of referees but i think praise where praise is due.

It can often go unnoticed but I think the two referees on Saturday night, James Owens who refereed our game against Laois and John Sexton who did the Offaly/Wexford game were excellent.

Owens in particular was a very good with keeping up with the play and making some great calls even though we didn't get it all our own way he had complete control of the game at all times.

It is very evident that alot of work is been done behind the scenes with all referees as the standard in hurling is on the rise- the more they let the game flow, with reason, the better it is for players and supporters.
