Super six storm into reckoning for Barry

FIFTEEN clubs are represented in the 28-player 2013 Dublin minor football squad.

They include six players who are being included in a Dublin panel for the first time.

"That is quite unusual. None of the six played for the county at under-14 or under-16 level, although Niamh Leahy was part of last year's Dublin under-17 Development squad," explains the new minor boss, Conor Barry.

The super six also include Rachel Brogan, Emer Ní Eafa, Ciara Regan, Isolt Reardon and Ciara Lynch.

Ní Eafa has only been a goalkeeper for the past 18 months, but she has the potential to be a future Cliodhna O'Connor.

The selection also includes last season's Leinster U16 footballer of the year, Katie Murphy, the Dublin U16 player of the year Kate Fitzgibbon, the brilliant Thomas Davis forward, Ciara McGuigan, and Danielle Pugh, who is seeking her fourth Leinster medal.

Also on board is Michelle Davoren, the sister of the Kilmacud and former Dublin forward, Mark.

Michelle is one of six players chosen from Crokes, the county's classy under-16 champions of 2012.

The rest of the Kilmacud Crokes contingent are Ciara Regan, Molly Lamb, Isolt Reardon, Eabha Rutledge and Orla McDonald.
