Start to Fir' for new Belgrove bosses
Belgrove's new management duo of Paul Usher and Anthony Mitchell will get their reign underway tomorrow in Tallaght when they face the Firhouse Clover.
The new Grove bosses know that if they can get their tenure off to a positive start it could be the confidence boost the club needs to drag themselves out of the Senior Division relegation mire.
Appointed just before Christmas, Usher and Mitchell, who still plays for the club, have had a few weeks to tweak the squad and once the transfer window reopened they added some new faces. The Grove have yet to play this year, having had their last couple of games postponed, but the Whitehall outfit will be itching to get back into action and start their climb away from the danger zone.
Peter Flood and Firhouse, though, will not lay down the red carpet for the visitors. The Tallaght side defeated Newbridge Town by the odd goal in three to keep the safely in mid table.
The victory was a good way to shake off the disappointment of going out of the FAI Intermediate Cup.
This is a severe test for Belgrove. Firhouse will look to shake the visitors and if they manage to get an early foothold it could be a baptism of fire for Usher and Mitchell.
