Shefflin to play no part in league
HENRY SHEFFLIN will not play any part in Kilkenny's forthcoming League programme, selector Martin Fogarty has confirmed.
The 33-year-old is in the process of recovering from shoulder surgery to correct an injury he picked up in last year's county semi-final and Fogarty is adamant that their 10-time All Star won't be seen in a Kilkenny jersey before the summer.
"Henry is miles away, he insisted. "He's not going to play in the League. Not a hope. So you can forget about him for the league anyway."
Meanwhile, Cork's Colm O'Neill is line to play his first match for Cork in over nine month in Sunday's McGrath Cup clash with Clare in Páirc Uí Rinn.
O'Neill has been out of action since rupturing his cruciate ligament in last year's Allianz League victory over Galway. Fellow forwards Daniel Goulding and Donnacha O'Connor are set to miss the early stages of this year's league while Ciarán Sheehan remains out with his own cruciate recuperation.
