Senan seals play-offs berth for Na Fianna

NA FIANNA confirmed their Top Four play-off spot with a comfortable 3-26 to 0-11 victory over Parnell's in their Dublin AFL Division 1 encounter on the Alfie Byrne Road on Saturday afternoon, writes Rónán Mac Lochlainn.

Senan Connell rolled back the years with a classy outing, amassing 0-9 between frees and open play, while Niall McGovern's excellent performance from wing-back was augmented by a goal to hand his side a 1-14 to 0-5 interval lead.

Parnell's, missing their International Rules contingent of Stephen Cluxton and Colm Begley, strove in vain to remain in contention, although Johnny Murtagh managed six points over the hour in what was a disappointing display from the Coolock men.

St Sylvester's remain on top of the pile, however, as a late point from Darren Clarke saw then squeeze home against St Vincent's by 2-13 to 0-15 at Broomfield.

AFL1: Na Fianna 3-26 Parnell's 0-11; St Sylvester's 2-13 St Vincent's 1-15.

AFL2: Raheny 2-14 Round Tower, Clondalkin 0-8.

AHL1: Ballinteer St John's 0-22 Nh Mearnóg 2-14; Crumlin OFF Faughs.
