Sarsfields set to shade it
DUBLIN SFC SECOND ROUND
RAHENY v LUCAN SARSFIELDS
(Balgriffin, Tonight, 7.30)
RAHENY made the quarter-final last term where they fell to Ballymun Kickhams. That was after they toppled Maur's in a replay and Fingal Ravens by a point.
This season, Raheny overcame St Peregrine's at St Margaret's, while Lucan Sarsfields accounted for Parnell's at Blakestown.
Lucan won by two points. And they were full value. They play a purposeful brand of football.
Andy Hope, Brendan Gallagher and Paul Casey made notable offerings against Parnell's.
Raheny had to go the distance against Peregrine's. It was the only game of the first round to extend to extra-time at St Margaret's.
Extra-time goals from Ger Coady and Ciaran Heapes won it. This could be another tight one.
Raheny are developing all the time and the inclusion of the likes of Gavin Ivory, Paddy O'Higgins, Brian Fenton, Rutherson Real, Eoghan Keogh and Paddy Reid in Dublin minor and/or U21 of recent seasons highlights the emerging talent in Colm McMahon's panel.
Raheny's league form has been solid. They lost to St Vincent's in their last Division 1 outing but had beaten both Thomas Davis and Parnell's during the summer.
Lucan Sarsfields tipped to just about shade it.
VERDICT: Lucan Sarsfields
