AN injury-time free from Mikey Ryan enabled Faughs to gain a share of the spoils in their entertaining Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 1 draw against Ballyboden St Enda's at Sancta Maria last night.
The visitors, driven on by Maurice O'Brien and Emmet McKenna at centrefield, led by 4-8 to 2-12 at the interval thanks to two goals by Colin Devane and further strikes from Pat Robinson and Micheál Devane while Paul Ryan replied for Boden.
Despite conceding three points to substitute Traolach Martin, the hosts improved after the interval with Matthew Weldon, Tim Sweeney, David O'Connor and Simon Lambert all to the fore and an Emmet Carroll goaled looked to have set them on their way to victory before Ryan's late intervention.
In AHL2, promotion favourites Lucan Sarsfields gave a dominant second-half display in finally overcoming Clan na Gael Fontenoy by 10 points in Sean Moore Park.
The switch of John McCaffrey and Dermot Clarke worked wonders for the visitors as did fine displays from Barry Aird and David Quinn in addition to goals from Peter Carroll and substitute Chris Crummey.
In Poppintree, Setanta maintained their fine recent form with Colm Breathnach inspiring them to an eight-point win over St Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh.
Eight points from Dónal Brethanch set Setanta on the way and they confirmed their win through goals by Jason Ó Buachalla and Antoin Céitinn.AHL1: Ballyboden St Enda's 4-16 Faughs 4-16. AHL2: Clan na Gael Fontenoy 0-8 Lucan Sarsfields 2-12; Setanta 2-15 St Oliver Plunkett's/ER 0-13.
