Reilly gets deadly Davis off to a flyer

It proved a morning for favourites in Division 5 of the Dublin Adult Football League as many of the top outfits confirmed their healthy positions with crucial wins as the season moves into its second half.

At Kiltipper Road, Sean Reilly's first-minute goal set Thomas Davis on course to a comfortable 3-13 to 0-8 win over near neighbours Ballyboden St Enda's.

The contest was delicately poised approaching the
break but Alan Hudson pounced on a rebound to fire the hosts to a 2-5 to 0-6 interval lead.

The second-half was more straightforward for Thomas Davis, who pulled away
thanks to notable contributions from Dean Owens, Naoise Condron, Kieran Oman, Dean Cahill, Éanna O'Toole and Daire Kerr.

Ballinteer St John's eased
their relegation worries with Conal Ellis, Ronan Clabby, Frank Ward and Paddy Corcoran impressing in
their 2-12 to 0-10 win over Fingal Ravens, while Brian McEvoy, Kieran McKittrick, Ciaran Murphy and Rob Hanrahan netted as
Round Tower Lusk beat
Garristown by 4-16 to 0-7.

In AFL6, Whitehall Colmcille maintained their promotion aspirations as they accounted for St Peregrine's by 4-10 to 2-7 in Cloghran.

Colm O'Hagan gave an influential performance for the hosts, netting on three occasions from full-forward while James Morrissey, John Moore and James O'Sullivan were others to shine in the Whitehall attack.

Brian Henry largely controlled defensive matters for Colmcille, who handed a debut to Alan O'Brien, with
the minor rewarding his side when contributing 1-2 from midfield.

Elsewhere, Wanderers finally got off the mark at the bottom of the table as they eked out a narrow 1-9 to 1-8 victory over Fingallians, earning themselves their first points of the year in the process.
