Rebels to ruin Kingdom

KERRY v CORK (Tralee, Tomorrow, 2.0)

"IT'S not about relegating Kerry," said Donncha O'Connor at a promotional event this week in the build-up to a fairly significant early-season meeting of Munster's overlords.

We didn't see his face, so we can't tell if he cracked a smile but it wouldn't hurt the mood in Cork either were they to go to Tralee and put Kerry into Division 2, particularly in the week when their most dangerous match-winner, Colm O'Neill, gave new meaning to the word 'luckless'.

Colm Cooper is back training with Kerry but what sort of involvement, if any, he has tomorrow is as yet unknown although the returns of Declan O'Sullivan and Paul Galvin last weekend in their maiden win over Down clearly had medicinal qualities.

In O'Neill's absence, Daniel Goulding starts his first match of the year while the fresh-faced Eoin O'Mahony comes in at full-back (and should 'get plenty of it from Kieran Donaghy') for the injured Eoin Cadogan.

ODDS: Kerry 21/20, Draw 7/1, Cork 11/10

VERDICT: Cork
