PETER KELLY is extremely unlikely to be fit to start Kildare's Leinster SFC semi-final showdown with Dublin on Sunday week.
The former All Star defender has been blighted by a succession of injuries for much of his inter-county career and didn't see a minute of action during Kildare's two-game saga with Laois, through a mixture of illness and ongoing hamstring trouble.
The hamstring issue still hasn't resolved itself and Kildare now appear resigned that he won't be ready to start against the Dubs, although he could yet come into the reckoning for a match-day role among the 26.
There is better news regarding Emmet Bolton, who suffered a bang to his shoulder/chest during the original Laois deadlock and then came off as a precaution after 57 minutes of the replay. Management are satisfied that the wing-back dynamo will be "fine" for the semi-final.
