O'Rourke delighted by Armagh courage
Ryan Henderson's last-gasp point, with the final kick of the game, gave Armagh victory in Portlaoise on Saturday.
Armagh manager Paddy O'Rourke was thrilled with the match-winning hero, who made up for squandering an even better chance just moments earlier.
"I thought Ryan showed great courage," said O'Rourke outside the winning dressing-room afterwards. "He was after missing two good chances just before that, but he didn't hesitate in going for it and it's a good win for us because we knew it wasn't going to be easy here."
Henderson's winner was the final action of a thrilling second half that saw Laois come back twice after Armagh had pulled clear.
The home side drew level with three minutes remaining when full-back Mark Timmons came up the field to fire over. Timmons had a chance to win the game himself moments later, but his rushed effort tailed wide. Armagh's Vinny Martin was sent-off midway through the first half before Laois' Kevin Meaney was also red-carded.
