Ross O'Carroll inspired Kilmacud Crokes to a comfortable 2-15 to 1-6 victory over St Vincent's in their Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 1 opener at Páirc de Búrca yesterday morning.

The Dublin panellist struck 1-5 from play for the county champions who impressed throughout with corner-forward Lorcan McMullan chipping in with three points from play.

Matt Collins made a superb save to help thwart a Vinnies comeback with the hosts easing home through 1-1 from Ryan O'Dwyer and a strong cameo by substitute Jude Sweeney.

Meanwhile, at Russell Park, St Brigid's got the better of near neighbours and newly promoted Naomh Fionnbarra with goals from Paul Winters and Ciaran Dolan inching the hosts home by 2-11 to 0-16 while league holders St Jude's defeated Cuala by 1-16 to 0-12.
