A dominant first-half display saw Ballymun Kickhams ease to a facile 21-point victory over an outclassed Fingal Ravens in their Dublin Senior Football Championship 2nd round encounter at Parnell Park last Saturday teatime.

The signs were evident from the initial stages that Kickhams were operating at a different pace and intensity to their opponents with Jason Whelan and Ted Furman kicking fine scores within the opening three minutes.

Whelan, David Givney and Dean Rock added points as the half progressed with Seán Currie doing well to thwart Cian Ó Scanaill after a driving run from the wing-back in the eighth minute.

Furman netted after unselfish play by Derek Byrne in the 16th minute and two minutes later Givney palmed home after a telling incision by Rock.

Trailing by 2-12 to 0-1 at the interval, Ravens improved slightly upon the restart with Alan Casey kicking three fine scores but their fate was sealed in the 42nd minute as Rock confidently converted from the spot after a foul on the lively Furman.
