Moran and Igoe net for 'Knock
dublin u16hc 'd' final
Castleknock produced a superb display when getting the better of a stubborn St Maur's by 2-10 to 0-2 in their Dublin U16 'D' Hurling Championship final at Blakestown Road last Saturday afternoon.
Most of the damage was done in the opening period as the Dublin 15 outfit enjoyed a 2-6 to 0-0 interval lead with James Igoe and Seán Moran finding the net for Castleknock.
Robert Shaw proved highly influential for the winners, amassing seven points as Castleknock produced a wonderful defensive display to keep their opponents scoreless in the opening half.
St Maur's improved hugely upon the restart with captain Maccullin Skelly landing two points and with Derek Halpin and Donal Flynn impressing throughout, substitute Culann Noonan offered them hope when finding the net early in the second half but the influence of Eoghan Dalton in the Castleknock midfield ultimately helped repel Maurs' comeback.
