Miserly Westies can halt Wexford's momentum

(Wexford Park, Today, 2.0)

WESTMEATH can virtually make certain of promotion with a win in Wexford today, a position few saw them in at the start of the League.

Beating early promotion favourites Laois last week will have done wonders for their confidence and it's unsurprising that Pat Flanagan has opted for an unchanged team.

Therefore, Dessie Dolan again starts the game on the bench as he battles to recover from a hamstring injury but is fit to play some part against Wexford, who are slowly building some much-needed momentum. Anthony Masterson returns in goals, having been named in the team to start against Louth last week before being replaced by Tom Hughes prior to throw-in.

Both Paddy Byrne and Shane Roche netted early goals for Wexford in Drogheda last weekend but they're likely to find the space and time much more limited against a Westmeath team with the joint lowest number of scores conceded (50) of any team across the Divisions, along with Limerick.

ODDS: Wexford 10/11, Draw 7/1, Westmeath 6/5
