THE Dublin minor footballers clocked in with another impressive display last Wednesday night when defeating Kildare to reach the Leinster final again.
It just shows all the hard work that Dessie Farrell and his management team is doing with these lads, and all that hard work paid off.
Even though Dublin ran out easy winners in the end, it was the way they worked for each other right throughout the park that caught my eye.
Meath will be another step up from Kildare but I would still fancy the Dubs to retain the Leinster title.
Kelly highlights Mortimer mess
JAMES HORAN must be a happy man - not only for retaining the Connacht title but also the fact that they did so with all the controversy surrounding Conor Mortimer.
Of course anyone can leave a panel at any time, but after all that Mortimer has done for Mayo it was extremely bad timing and selfish of him to opt out in the fashion he did last week.
Why would he do this before such a big game?
Look at Tipp's Eoin Kelly, for example; he was in the very same situation - not selected for the Munster final - but stuck in there and got on to produce a massive performance to help his team to victory.
It must have been hard for Kelly as well - after all he has done over the years - not to be starting and now it looks as if he may be in with a great chance to win back a starting position for the All-Ireland semi-final.
That's the difference.
