Kerry sweat over duo

Kerry worry over Brosnan and Scanlon

KERRY centre-back Eoin Brosnan is facing into an anxious All-Ireland week after suffering an ankle injury at training last Friday night.

The versatile Dr Crokes player has already undergone cryotherapy treatment in Ennis in a bid to hasten his recovery.

But if Sunday's final comes too soon, then manager Jack O'Connor will be forced into a defensive reshuffle with either Shane Enright or Daniel Bohan the most likely option for a dramatic call-up.

"He went over on his ankle (on Friday night)," O'Connor explained at Kerry's All-Ireland press day in Killarney. "He'll be getting treatment from here to the weekend, and see if he can get it sorted. But it's obviously a concern."

He added: "It (cryotherapy) speeds up the healing of an injury apparently, but there's no point speculating at this stage because we just have to wait and see as the week goes on."

Back-up midfielder Seamus Scanlon is another major final doubt after missing several training sessions last week. The 2009 All Star has a benign cyst on his neck which became infected last week, and O'Connor revealed: "We'll see how he looks on Tuesday night."
