Injury worry set to rule Cluxton out for Irish duty

STEPHEN CLUXTON is not expected to be a part of this year's Ireland squad for the forthcoming International Rules series.

The Dublin goalkeeper captained Anthony Tohill's team to record victories in Melbourne and the Metricon Stadium on Australia's Gold Coast the last time the series was staged in 2011 and has been first choice goalkeeper for Ireland squad each time he has made himself available.

However, he has been hampered by injury this season and it is unlikely that he will link up with Paul Earley's squad.

Meath's goalkeeper Paddy O'Rourke has taken part in training sessions with a provisional squad in recent weeks, including last weekend.

Earley will announce his captain for the series tomorrow in Breffni Park, the venue for the first test on October 19.

It is believed both Paul Flynn and Ciarán Kilkenny are ready to take up the offer of an invitation to upcoming trials.

HOLDERS Kilmacud Crokes have been drawn against Ballyboden St Enda's in the Dublin SHC 'A' quarter-final.
