St Vincent's delivered a dominant extra-time performance to eventually pull away from holders Ballyboden St Enda's by eleven points in their entertaining Dublin Senior 'A' Hurling Championship quarter-final at Parnell Park on Saturday afternoon.

With the teams deadlocked at 0-20 to 2-14 at the conclusion of an hour of thrilling hurling, a Stephen McCarry goal in the opening minute of extra-time helped set the tone of St Vincent's supremacy from that juncture with John Hetherton the dominant personality as he fired over all six points during the second period to secure their progression to the last four.

The Mariono outfit suffered a disheartening start with Paul Ryan netting for Boden in the opening minute and his three sublime points in quick succession ensured the holders enjoyed a deserved 1-9 to 0-8 interval advantage.

With Rian McBride and Tom Connolly to the fore, St Vincent's were far more assured upon the restart and the drew level by the 45th minute thanks to a John Walsh point.

However, a defensive lapse allowed Conor Dooley to race through for an excellent solo goal in the soon after with Ryan and Hetherton trading scores as the half developed into a frantic finale.

Ryan's late free following a foul on the lively Niall McMorrow looked to have edged Boden home but a Hetherton free in the 63rd minute ensured stalemate at full-time with Vincent's making most of that late reprieve with an excellent extra-time display that left their opponents well beaten long before the final whistle.
