Heslin returns in style
JOHN HESLIN marked his return from Australia with a match-saving performance for the Westmeath U21 footballers last night, writes Frank Roche.
Heslin, who quit his Aussie Rules career with Richmond Tigers last week because of homesickness, rescued a 0-10 apiece draw for his county in an U21 challenge against Longford at his home pitch, St Loman's.
Playing at full-forward, he scored 0-5 (four from play) including a brilliant left-footed equaliser with the last kick of the game. Westmeath open their Leinster U21 campaign against either Wicklow or Carlow.
