Hallows spot on for Tower's

A late penalty from Mick Hallows helped Round Tower finally overcome Naomh Mearnóg by six points in their Evening Herald Dublin SFC clash at O'Toole Park on Saturday, writes Ronán Mac Lochlainn.

In a scrappy first-half, Tower's opened up a four-point lead with Hallows, John O'Brien, Ian Ward and Ciaran Carr helping themselves to points although a late rally, with scores from Michael Gibbs and Stephen McHale, left Mearnóg trailing by 0-6 to 0-4 at the interval.

Four second-half points from Andy Sheppard brought the Portmarnock side to within a point but the late penalty sealed their fate.
