Michael Graham has been confirmed a Cavan's new senior football manager.

The Cavan Gaels clubman previously managed Cavan minors and according to a statement from the county board announcing his appointment "has had success at club level in Cavan winning Junior & Intermediate titles with Butlersbridge & Drumalee, and with Mullinalaghta in Longford winning back to back senior titles in 2016 & 2017."

Under his watch, Mullinalaghta made the 2016 Leinster club semi-final where they lost by seven points to eventual champions, St. Vincent's.

Dermot McCabe, Cavan's captain and an All Star when they last won Ulster in 1997, will be part of Graham's backroom team along side Martin Corey, who will coach the side.

Graham replaces Mattie McGleenan in the role who in turn, took over from Hyland.

Hyland was recently appointed Leitrim manager although there are still eight remaining inter-county managerial vacancies in Kerry, Down, Louth, Westmeath, Longford, Offaly, Waterford and Sligo.
