Golden era for Dublin football' - Nugent
IT'S a golden era for Dublin football and Paul Nugent is relishing every second.
The former Dublin footballer and selector is backing the Blues to beat the Royals in Sunday's Leinster final.
"Meetings between Dublin and Meath are generally close, but I think that Dublin are certainly further on than Meath at this point," judges Paul.
"Football is in such a strong position in the county. The standard is just so high.
"It is a remarkable period, and I think it will even outdo the Heffo era."
Yet the ex-Thomas Davis star believes that Meath will produce a performance in Croke Park.
He praises the work of manager, Mick O'Dowd.
"They looked very good the last day against Kildare.
"Stephen Bray was outstanding. He is a very, very good player, but I don't think Jonny Cooper, or whoever is marking him, will give him the same room.
"Dublin have such a formidable look about them. Meath will give it everything, but it's so hard to live with this Dublin side, especially with the overall strength that it is in the panel."
