IT'S either a sign of his enduring class or the lack of quality elsewhere in the county that Dessie Dolan was - by a great distance - the most influential player in this year's Westmeath SFC.
Possibly, it's a mixture of both but his performance in this year's county final, just a couple of months after Dolan's retirement from inter-county football, broke Mullingar Shamrocks entirely.
He didn't score from play, but orchestrated the Garrycastle attack from centre-forward and it brough the club their first county title in three years.
They've also undoubtedly got the plum draw in Leinster, a home tie against the Longford champions.
Emmet Óg do have some successful experience at this stage, though. They beat Wexford representatives St Anne's in Leinster two years ago and even more impressively, hammered Navan O'Mahony's by all of 11 points in the quarter-final.
They should keep it tight here but no more.
