Galway SHC finally back up and running

THE long-delayed Galway SHC will finally get back up and running after Turloughmore lost their DRA appeal last night, writes Frank Roche.

Turloughmore's appeal against the decision of the Galway CCC was unsuccessful and this allows its senior championship to recommence.

The club had been dumped out of the Galway SHC following an investigation into the eligibility of one of their players.

Beagh will now play Ardrahan in the Galway quarter-finals; the winners will play Gort while Portumna are already in the final.

Eoin Bradley is poised for a sensational Derry return after a surprise recall by manager Brian McIver, who is now open to the ace attacker combining soccer and Gaelic football commitments next spring.

Leitrim footballers have suffered a massive blow with captain Emlyn Mulligan ruling himself out of action for the entire 2015 campaign. The 26-year-old garda has been granted a career break next year, and his plans to go travelling abroad will also deprive Dublin club St Brigid's of his prolific services.
