Gaelic: Daly: Dubs must give it their all

ANTHONY DALY has called on his players to produce their most compelling performance of the season on Sunday as they face down the might of All-Ireland champions, Tipperary for a place in the All-Ireland final.

“Every player that wears the blue jersey on Sunday has to be getting the maximum out of himself, or at the very least, close to it,” writes Daly in his column in the Herald today. “Sixout- of-10s won't do.

Everybody has to be hitting the eight or nine mark and hopefully that will be enough to bring us down to the wire and if we can get a break or two, who knows?”

However, the Dublin manager also insists that his team aren’t prepared to go the way of the form book and bow out meekly to the two-in-a-row chasing Premier county.

“September 4 (the date of the All-Ireland final) has been our target all year and we're up against it, big time. But we've had a great year so far and we don't intend finishing it on Sunday,” he added.
