Waterford v Cork (Thurles, Tom 4.0, live rte 2)
BASED on events at the same venue five weeks ago, you will struggle to construct a logical argument to support Cork's favouritism with the bookies.
Waterford won that league final by ten points and were worth every one of them. For a group boasting no success in national finals, Cork were unfathomably flat. They were hardly playing pre-summer mind games with a cup at stake? Doubtful.
That performance, coming on top of last year's All-Ireland semi-final no-show and some topsy-turvy league displays, has raised genuine doubts about their long-term summer prospects. Tomorrow, though, we have a hunch (no more) that Cork will be a lot less meek and a lot more tuned into Waterford's defensive set-up.
Bringing Brian Murphy (above), post retirement U-turn, straight into the team could be construed as a sign of Cork panic/lack of defensive options. Yet Pauric Mahony's Deise absence could ultimately prove the tie-breaker.
