Goals proved crucial as Ballyboden St Enda's confirmed promotion to AHL3 after overcoming St Brigid's by 2-13 to 0-14 in their play-off at Russell Park on Sunday morning.
That feat will offer some consolation to a Boden side that succumbed in the Dublin JHC 'A' final earlier this autumn and they were boosted by an inspirational display from captain Mattie O'Sullivan.
The goals arrived through Fionn Maguire and Collie Durkin with the latter in fine attacking form while Boden embellished their total with eight points from Mick Griffin.
The hosts battled gamely throughout with Seán Keegan, Ciarán O'Sullivan and Macdara Butler to the fore but an injury to key marksman O'Sullivan hindered their chances and they took a further blow when dismissed to 14 men midway through the second-half.
The visitors were able to repel St Brigid's quest for a goal with goalkeeper Ronán Sharkey making two great saves while Ronán Glynn, Andy Hand and Darren Lennon complemented the excellent defensive display of wing-back Ross Cullen.
