Dubs poised for Saturday Super 8 ties

Dublin's first two 'Super 8' matches have been scheduled for the next two Saturday evenings, writes Conor McKeon.

Jim Gavin's team will begin their All-Ireland quarter-final group campaign on Saturday week in Croke Park at 7.0 against the winner of the round 4 qualifier clash between Cork and Laois.

The CCCC have also confirmed the second round of fixtures, in which Dublin will face Connacht champions Roscommon on Saturday (7.0), July 20 as part of a Croke Park double-header.

The earlier game will feature the other Group 2 matches between Tyrone or Cavan and Cork or Laois.

The GAA have also confirmed that the All-Ireland hurling quarter-finals will be played in Croke Park for the first time since 2010.

All-Ireland SHC quarter-finals: Kilkenny v Cork/Westmeath, Croke Park, 2.0, Tipperary v Dublin/Laois, Croke Park 4.0

Saturday, 20 July

All-Ireland SFC Super 8s 

Group 2, round 2: Cork/Laois v Cavan/Tyrone, Croke Park, 5.0, Dublin v Roscommon, Croke Park, 7.0

Sunday, 21 July

All-Ireland SFC Super 8s 

Group 1, round 2: Galway/Mayo v Meath/Clare, Croke Park, 2.0, Kerry v Donegal, Croke Park, 4.0
