Another summer Sunday on the road to Carlow. Dublin are well used to the scenery at this stage.

Last July, they won their seventh successive TG4 Leinster Senior Championship title. Ruling the province just as firmly as their menfolk.

And it's Westmeath again. Just like it has been for the last four years. With Dublin winning handsomely on each occasion.

With only two senior counties in Leinster, this is the first championship fixture for both. Hopefully the weather will be better than it was back in March when the teams met in the league at DCU.

Westmeath deserved to get something out of it. Dublin prevailed, helped by Noelle Healy's goal.

But Westmeath achieved their ultimate goal later on in the campaign - retaining their Division 1 ticket. They have a player Dublin know well, Fiona Claffey of Foxrock Cabinteely, who has given so much to the county.

Dublin reached the semi-final of the league, losing to Cork in an epic match at Nowlan Park that stretched to extra time.

The Dubs have grown as a team over the last couple of years. Being All-Ireland champions puts a few bottles of confidence in the kit bag. Sinéad Aherne and company should be winners today.

Verdict: Dublin
