Dublin cruised into the semi-finals of the Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Football Championship after their comprehensive 6-12 to 0-5 victory over Longford at Parnell Park on Saturday afternoon.

It proved a desperately flat beginning from both sides with precision marked absent as the visitors spurned a number of presentable chances to open the scoring in the opening ten minutes.

The hosts finally managed to pierce the heavily manned Longford defence to eventually open the scoring through Darragh Conlon in the 14th minute.

Although the visitors opened their own account soon after through Joseph Hagan, Dublin assumed command of matters in the second quarter with Ross McGarry and Niall O'Leary kicking scores to reflect their greater control.

A Ross McGarry goal in the 25th minute helped ensure a 1-6 to 0-1 interval lead for Dublin and they enhanced their lead within three minutes of the restart thanks to Seán Hawkshaw's fine goal.

It proved a procession from that point with Doran, McGarry and substitutes Adam Byrne and James Madden all netting.
