Na Fianna preserved their senior championship status for 2015 as they comfortably accounted for St Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh by 2-28 to 0-9 in their Senior 'A' Hurling Championship relegation play-off at Blanchardstown IT yesterday morning.
The margin of victory was as comfortable as the final scoreline implies with AJ Murphy a constant threat for Na Fianna, amassing 1-6 over the hour.
Murphy received excellent support in attack from Dublin minor Seán Ryan, who struck 0-6, while Joseph Boland hit 10 points from play and placed balls.
It was far tighter in the AHL2 Promotion Final as Naomh Fionnbarra finished strongly to overcome Crumlin by 1-27 to 2-22 at Bray Emmets with Eamonn Dillon hitting 16 points and Ger Doddrill six from play for Fionnbarra.
On Saturday evening, Thomas Davis preserved their AFL1 status as they defeated near neighbours St Mary's Saggart by 0-21 to 2-10 after extra-time at Kiltipper Road.
A Blaine Kelly goal looked likely to see the visitors home in normal time but after scoring two late points, the hosts pulled clear in extra-time thanks to positive contributions from Chris Sallier and Eoin Kirby.
