Na Fianna joined Kilmacud Crokes at the summit of Group 1 of the Dublin Senior 'A' Hurling Championship after they accounted for Faughs by fifteen points at Parnell Park last night.

The Glasnevin side opened up brightly and were two points to the good inside the first two minutes following sumptuous efforts from Donal Burke and Colin Currie.

They maintained their momentum as Seán Currie nipped in between two defenders in the 4th minute to tap home past Liam Gleeson before a Colin Currie free left six points between the teams two minutes later.

Faughs were already looking for inspiration and it duly arrived in the 11th minute as David Croke embarked on a scintillating solo run fifty metres from goal before having the composure to plant a firm finish across the helpless Jonathan Treacy.

Na Fianna's response to that setback was impressive as Colin Currie tagged on three points from placed balls with Carl O'Mahony keeping Faughs in the hunt with two frees of his own.

The half continued in a similar vein with a late Burke from point leaving Na Fianna 1-9 to 1-4 to the good by half-time.

The second-half proved far more one-sided as Sean Currie highlighted his predatory instincts with a cracking second goal in the 45th minute.

A disappointing Faughs managed some cheer through Chris Bennett's cracking strike ten minutes from time but by then, they were chasing shadows with Na Fianna substitute AJ Murphy landing two glorious points.

The final word fittingly belonged to Seán Currie, who completed his hat-trick with another smart finish past Gleeson in the 58th minute.
