Cup specialists Tyrone to test Armagh mettle
McKenna Cup final: Armagh v Tyrone (Athletic Grds, Tonight 7.30, TG4)
It has been an upbeat McKenna Cup for Armagh. Four wins from four, including back-to-back victories over Monaghan and Donegal, who have long since usurped the Orchard in Ulster's pecking order.
Add in this year's return of Jamie Clarke, Stefan Campbell and James Morgan, and it explains the comments of Jim McCorry, Kieran McGeeney's right-hand man, in the Irish News: "We are targeting the Super 8s… if we can get a fairly injury-free run I think we could compete well in the Super 8s."
Tonight will give a clue how far they've to travel. Tyrone's six-in-a-row McKenna run ended with last year's defeat to Donegal, but Mickey Harte's nine changes include the recall of a handful of mainstays.
Odds: Armagh 9/4 Draw 15/2 Tyrone 4/9
