Cuala pride can block Jude's path
EVENING HERALD DUBLIN SHC 'A' GROUP A
CUALA v ST JUDE'S
(Shankill, Tonight, 5.45)
JUDE'S have timed their run well. Two wins in their last two matches. Another one and they have their quarter-final ticket. It won't be easy here.
Beating Lucan and Brigid's represent good days at the office. Ross O'Brien prospered in the Tymon defence against Brigid's. Half-back Stephen Larkin nicked a neat point, and there's calibre in the deeds of Niall Mangan, Ronan Joyce, John Ryan, Sam Lehane and Cormac Grogan.
Cuala are out of the race, but they'll be keen to finish with a spurt. They showed commendable spirit in the second half against Chiaráin's. John Henderson will be demanding more of the same. His tenure has been blighted by injures, but, when the mood strikes, Cuala can be a handful.
Shane Holden, John Sheanon, Rob Reid, Oisín and Conor Gough, Scott O'Brien, Mark Schutte and the Brownes will add helpings of granite.
SO FAR -- Cuala: Lost to Brigid's by 3 points. Lost to Lucan by 4 points. Drew with Crumlin. Lost to Chiaráin's by 6 points. St Jude's: Lost to Crumlin by 4 points. Lost to Chiaráin's by 12 points. Beat Lucan by 5 points. Beat Brigid's by 3 points.
