Crokes outclass Na Fianna to move off bottom spot

Dublin AFL1/2 Round-up: Kilmacud Crokes moved off bottom spot in the Dublin Adult Football League Division 1 table following their comfortable 2-16 to 1-8 win over Na Fianna at Páirc de Búrca on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts led by 0-9 to 0-3 at the interval with Mark Vaughan continuing his fine form with six points over the hour while Pat Burke was also lively as he added four points.

All-Star Kevin Nolan impressed at midfield for the winners alongside Brian Hanamy and with Cian O'Sullivan showing well at centre-back, Crokes sealed the precious two points thanks to goals from Craig Dias and substitute Ray Cosgrove.

Kilmacud have swapped positions with Trinity Gaels, who fell at the hands of Templeogue Synge Street by 2-12 to 0-12 at Dolphin Park.

Brendan O'Brien helped the visitors to a 0-9 to 1-3 half-time lead with Cathal Morley landing a 20th minute goal for Synger and with Alan O'Brien and Fintan Coffey dominating at midfield, the hosts pulled clear after the break thanks to 0-3 apiece from Fergal O'Gara and Declan Trainor with Dublin minor Niall Scully adding 1-3 for the winners. In AFL2, Raheny moved into a share of second spot following a comfortable 11-point victory over St Pat's of Palmerstown in St Anne's Park with substitute David Carroll recording both goals for the winners.

David Henry, Stephen Swords, centre-back Greg Bennett and wing-back Ger Coady who attacked to telling effect to land three points, all impressed for Raheny with Carroll showing great composure in front of goal for a brace of the highest quality.
