TWO wins from two for Dublin's junior team in Division 3 of the National League. They beat Westmeath, 0-8 to 0-5, at O'Toole Park at Sunday lunchtime.
The Dubs looked fit. Roisin Collins had a super match. Her industry cheered all. She hit some elegant points from play.
And in the second half when Dublin faced the Westmeath revival, Collins kept her miner's hat on.
It was a notable result for the Blues who fell to Westmeath in the All-Ireland Junior final last season. The Dubs began this campaign with a win in Armagh.
The valuable capture of Georgina Kelly was again underlined. Three frees from Kelly, and a point from Collins, had the Blues bubbling early on. The energy of Alison McGrath also impressed the audience.
The counties were level at 0-1 each, but after that, the Dubs led all the way to the line.
The hosts were ahead by 0-5 to 0-4 at the interval, with the wind to come. And two points from Collins and another free from Kelly saw them safely into harbour.
Following promotion from Division 4, it was another happy day at the office for the management team of Brendan Cooper, Sandra Tarr, Dave Dunning and Dave Pearson.
