Cody glad with replay shot at Tipp
FOR the third time in three years, the All-Ireland SHC final is going to a replay following an epic draw between Kilkenny and Tipperary in (3-22 to 1-28) in Croke Park yesterday.
They'll meet again on Saturday, September 27th at 5pm, the third such replay in successive seasons.
Having scored the last three points of the match to level the game, which will rank as one of the most spectacular chapters in the team's storied recent rivalry, Tipperary had an injury-time free.
John 'Bubbles' O'Dwyer's strike from almost 100 metres sailed to the right of the Kilkenny goal, with Hawkeye used to confirm the last-minute miss.
Of the free, a contentious decision by referee Barry Kelly, Brian Cody said: "I presumed that was it for us but, look it, it wasn't. If it had gone over the bar it was their game, end of story, so thanks be to God it didn't."
