Craobh Chiaráin deservedly claimed their Dublin U16 FL Division 4 title after overcoming a talented Fingal Ravens by 4-7 to 2-4 at Clonshaugh last Saturday.
Paul Pettigrew proved the scoring hero for the hosts, striking a brace of fine goals while JJ Nolan was another player to find the net for a vibrant Chiaráin's outfit.
With the contest delicately poised, the decisive moment arrived early in the second-half as Sean Rossiter netted for the hosts and Craobh followed up that crucial score through a point from the influential Brandon Burnett soon after to take the tie away from their opponents.
With Pettigrew a constant danger, the hosts extended their advantage with scores by the impressive Keith Cooling, Rossiter and Nolan. Further out the field, Craobh benefited hugely from the contributions of Conor McKiernan and and Conor Ryan as they prevailed by nine points by the final whislte.
The visitors remained in contention through the efforts of half-back Daniel Sammon, Aaron Molloy and full-forward Lorcan O'Brien, who chipped in with 1-3 but they missed the influence of the absent Colin Daly.
