Cavan without some big names
Cavan are without a trio of their most experienced players for Sunday's Allianz League Division 1 opener against Dublin in Breffni Park.
Gearóid McKiernan, Cian Mackey and goalkeeper Ray Galligan will all miss the visit of the All-Ireland champions.
McKiernan underwent knee surgery late last year and is out for at least another month.
Mackey had initially opted out of the squad for the season for work reasons but has since returned from England and like Galligan, has linked up Mattie McGleenan's new squad.
Neither is available for Sunday owing to injuries that will keep them out of both Sunday's clash with Dublin and Cavan's second League match in Castleblaney against Monaghan on Sunday week.
"You'll not see them for the next two or three weeks but they're making their way back," revealed McGleenan. "They're with the squad again and they're starting to get a ball into their hand again.
"It's a huge lift to the rest of the players.
"But the players we'll have on the football field, they'll have to do their job. They'll have a great chance to test themselves on Sunday. So they better go and enjoy it."
Kilmacud Crokes forward Eugene Keating, former Ballymun midfielder David Givney and Feargal Flanagan have all departed the squad since the end of last year.
