Brogan and O’Carroll to be fit for final

JIM GAVIN expects both Rory O’Carroll and Bernard Brogan to be fit for Dublin’s Allianz Football League final against Cork on Sunday week - and based on yesterday’s stuttering semi-final progress, he might need them.

The duo had been named to start against Monaghan but cried off with “soft tissue injuries” beforehand.

Freed from O’Carroll’s claustrophobic shadow, man of the match Conor McManus kicked five points from play - as much as the entire starting Dublin attack.

However, the NFL holders still eked out a 0-17 to 0-16 victory and Gavin later explained that, with championship so close, he had feared that O’Carroll and Brogan “could do more long-term damage. If was just really precaution on my part.”
