ST BRIGID'S advanced to the Dublin Adult Football League Division 1 final following their comprehensive 3-17 to 0-5 victory over a disappointing Kilmacud Crokes at Russell Park yesterday morning.

The hosts dominated from the opening whistle with first-half goals by Philly Ryan and Lorcan McCarthy propelling Brigid's into a 2-8 to 0-3 interval advantage.

The procession continued after the break with Ryan, Kevin Bonner (pictured) and McCarthy adding numerous points and with Cathal Doyle and Collie Freeman keeping things tight at the back, St Brigid's confirmed their final berth through a Cian Mullins goal.

The identity of their opponents in the final is still not determined, however, as St Sylvester's and Ballyboden St Enda's played out their second successive draw in four days when their clash finished 1-17 to 2-14 after extra-time in Broomfield.

The hosts look set to progress as they led by three points in extra-time but a late goal by substitute Conor Dooley ensured the sides will need a third meeting to settle the matter.

Supported

Nigel Dunne struck 1-9 for Syls and he was well supported by Brian Sexton, Gary Sweeney, Aidan Relihan and John Coughlan while an experimental Boden selection were best served by Colm Basquel, who scored their first goal, Collie Dunne, Robbie McDaid and midfielder Ian Clarke.

At the opposite end of the table, Thomas Davis preserved their top-flight status when comfortably accounting for Lucan Sarsfields by 1-16 to 0-7 in their relegation play-off at Kiltipper Road.

Ryan Deegan, Brendan Kirby and Brian Kirby all excelled defensively for the hosts and after substitute Joey O'Reilly netted in the 40th minute, Thomas Davis cruised to victory with Paul Hudson, Shane McGrath and Ciaran Farrelly sharing 11 points over the hour.

AFL1: St Brigid's 3-17 Kilmacud Crokes 0-5; St Sylvester's 1-17 Ballyboden St Enda's 2-14; Thomas Davis 1-16 Lucan Sarsfields 0-7.

AFL2: Ballinteer St John's v Skerries Harps OFF.
