Boden blow Peregrine's out of the water

BALLYBODEN ST ENDA'S 2-19ST PEREGRINE'S 0-4

BALLYBODEN ST ENDA'S simply blew St Peregrine's side away yesterday in this one-sided Evening Herald Dublin SFC fourth round clash at Parnell Park.

Boden were ruthless in their disposal of their opponents, and set up a mouth-watering tie with St Brigid's this Saturday (O'Toole Park, 4.30).

Impressive full-forward Seán Gibbons got the ball rolling for the winners when his pace took him away from the Peregrine's defence to split the posts.

Midfield stalwart Declan O'Mahony doubled the lead before Boden grabbed their first goal. Michael Darragh Macauley set Paul Galvin clear and he was taken out in the small rectangle just as the wing forward was about to pull the trigger.

Peregrine's net-minder Karl Walsh guessed correctly but Andrew Kerin's kick had just enough power to reach the bottom corner.

But the Boden pressure was incessant and after Gibbons, Kerin and a brace from the excellent Daniel Davey put them 10 points clear, O'Mahony ended the game as a contest with a goal on 25 minutes.

Further scores from Darren O'Reilly, O'Mahony and Dermot Manley gave them an unassailable 2-11 to 0-0 advantage at the break.

The biggest cheer of the tie came when Ciarán Murtagh clipped over Peregrine's opener in the 40th minute.
