BALLYMUN KICKHAMS

A weekend of mixed emotions just passed us by, and the hero of the week is no spring chicken and the captain of our intermediate team, Simon Lawlor. He played a captain's role at wing-back for the inters as they defeated a gallant and honourable Good Counsel and along with defending well, he popped up with 2 great points. A great servant to the club, and a first time recipient of the much coveted "hero of the week" accolade. Take a bow Simon. Well done to Joe Nolan and his management team and all the inters on winning AFL4, winning all 15 games. An amazing stat. Thank you also to Good Counsel for a sporting game. We wish them all the best in the play-offs. This great result did something to heal the shock of our exit from the Dublin SFC on Saturday afternoon. A game where we can have no complaints about the result, and we would like to wish Plunkett's the very best in the rest of their campaign. Deserved winners and strong contenders for the title. Our juniors also lost on Sunday, which is a disappointing end to an otherwise outstanding season. Our Gaelic For Mothers (and others) group had a great couple of weeks with 2 great games versus Whitehall and a fantastic win over Fingallians. Each of the 24 players continue to give their all in preparation for the All-Ireland Blitz on the 18th of this month, but the best this week were Niamh O'Farrell, Hazel Walsh, Lorraine Higgins and Niamh DeRossa. Our much-awaited launch of the Leaving Cert grinds has been announced on the club website forum. Finally, the club would like to wish a speedy recovery to young Mark Fallon who was injured in an accident last week. Get well soon Mark.

BEANN EADAIR

WELL done to our junior adult football team, who defeated Ballyboden yesterday on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-13. The team has now qualified for a promotional play-off. Congrats also to our U12 boys, who topped their 2014 league on Saturday last. Also to the U13 girls who won their semi-final on Saturday against Clontarf. A cake sale and car wash will take place on Saturday next to raise U14 LGFA Feile Funds - all support appreciated. Committee meeting Wednesday 8.45pm. Lotto results: 7, 14, 17 & 25. No winner this week - next jackpot €4,600. 2014/2015 juvenile subscriptions are now due and can be returned to your mentors or to registrar Mindy O'Brien.

CASTLEKNOCK

WELL done to the intermediate footballers, who reached the Championship Final after a great win against Clanna Gael on Friday night in Parnell Park. Details of the Final will follow later in the week. In the meantime, they face Ballinteer St John's away in the league on Tuesday, as they keep up their bid for a play-off spot. Throw-in at 8pm. Well done to both our U14 and U13 girls' football teams for reaching their Shield Finals after good wins in their semi-finals at the weekend. Hard luck to our U16 girls' football team who went out in their Championship semi-final on Sunday to a very strong O'Toole's side. Best of luck to all our juvenile camogie teams competing in their semi-finals next weekend. On a sadder note, our thoughts are with Fergus Hamill and his family, after the passing of Fergus' father, Michael. Tickets for the Wine Tasting evening in the Carpenter this Thursday. CLANNA GAEL FONTENOY

CONGRATULATIONS to our U15 girls football team, who had a great win at the weekend against Cuala in the Championship semi-final with a score line of 6-5 to 2-7. They now have a final to prepare for and look forward to - well done girls. Hard luck to our intermediate footballers, who lost out to Castleknock in their Championship semi-final. Played in Parnell Park on a very wet and windy Friday night, the conditions made for a low-scoring game. While Clanns reached the half-time break with a three-point lead, they unfortunately couldn't maintain that form through the second half and eventually lost by six points. The atrocious weather conditions did not facilitate competitive football as part of the Play to Stay Super Games Centre initiative earlier that same night. A better environment is expected for the coming Friday evening at 6.30pm at the club with all 12-16 year old footballers welcome to participate in competitive games. Further information about free registration to participate at the club is available from orlaith.curran2@mail.dcu.ie or 087-2124370. There was no winner of last week's €10,000 Lotto Jackpot with the winning numbers of 16, 18, 27 and 30; and the jackpot carries forward for a further week.

CLONTARF

WELL done to our senior footballers and management team on winning AFL3 after a fantastic effort all season. Congratulations also to our U12A footballers, who went the season unbeaten to top Division 2. A brilliant performance by Brian Dufficy in goals helped the U16B hurlers to a fine 2 point win over Peregrine's. U10 camogie recorded 2 great wins at the weekend. The club is hosting a Ladies Fashion Show, this coming Friday the 10th at 8pm in the clubhouse, with special guest Irish clothes designer Liz Quinn. There will be 20% discount on the night on items purchased. Many thanks to our U16 boys and girls mentors and players for organising our recent old clothes collection fundraiser. The numbers drawn in our weekly lotto were 1-5-21-27. There was no winner. Weekly consolation winners were Padraic Casey and Paddy Farrelly. Next week's Jackpot is €5,400. Our Social GAA team enjoyed a great challenge away to Naomh Maur, with the hosts taking the victory (1-8 to 1-5). www.clontarfgaa.com.

O'TOOLE'S

IT was another superb week for O'Toole's girls. Last Wednesday saw our U16s have a great win away to Templeogue/Synge Street in the Division 2 Championship group. This win put them into the semi-final on Sunday, where they had a home victory over Castleknock 'A'. Well done girls and the very best of luck in the Final (date and time to be announced). Yes they won again, our talented U12 girls proved to be too strong for locals Trinity Gaels. They are getting better with every game they play. Our minor girls' team had a good win against Fingallians, beating them by 4 points in the Championship. Their semi-final game v Parnell's will be played at home this Thursday at 7:30pm, so come along and cheer the girls on. Bravo our U14 hurlers, who had a fantastic win in their top 4 game v Lucan Sarsfields on Saturday. Our U8s played against Fingallians on Saturday, where they showed how much they're improving with practice. The club wish our senior hurlers 'all the best' for their semi-final Championship clash with St Jude's this coming Saturday 11th at 4pm in Parnell Park. The lads would like to perceive a sea of green and white jerseys and flags around the park so don the gear and get there. Sunday morning next is the last game of the year for our junior hurlers, who are away to Whitehall Colmcille at 11am. A big effort is required for all the players to participate. Could teams submit a list of all mentors involved in their teams to 086-2909022 with the team name as well? GAA4MAs had a great second session back, thanks to Richie Kenny for putting us through our paces. Enjoyed by all despite the weather. Minor hurlers beat Rialta Gaels in a cracking game on Sunday morning winning by one point, 2013 to 3-09. RANELAGH GAELS

THE lads secured a crucial victory in their final league game of the season on Sunday against Kilmacud Crokes in Bushy Park. The win means the team has all but secured a spot in the promotion play-offs - there are a number of games yet to be completed before the final standings will be known. It was an excellent win as the team were four points down at half-time but a stirring second-half display fashioned a two point victory; final score Gaels 1-11 Crokes 1-9. In light of the win, training will continue this week with the first session pencilled in for St Killian's in Clonskeagh on Tuesday. For further info keep an eye on the @ranelaghgaels Twitter feed. No winner of our Lotto this week with numbers 7, 8, 21 & 23 drawn. €50 went to Sam and €25 going to R Watson and C McKittrick. Jackpot next week stands at €1,900. Our U10s played Wanderers in a one-sided contest with Towers playing excellent football. John Power and Callum McGrath had some great scores in both halves. U13 hurlers: Whitehall Colmcille (6-6) Round Towers (11-6). Our U13 hurlers travelled to Whitehall and from the start the Whitehall side showed that they were up for the match with some excellent scores. Our defenders kept the Whitehall attacks at bay. In midfield, Conor Bohan and Sean Naughton were the engine room of the team, covering every blade of grass. Sean contributed 1-2 and John Murray gave us a wonder goal in the first-half. But the difference between the two teams was Luke Codd, who scored an incredible 9-4, with only one point from a free. The U13 girls travelled to Round Towers Clondalkin for their Championship semi-final only to return home disappointed. AFL 10 St Patrick's (1-8) Round Towers (3-11). A good game for Towers with everyone playing well to ensure another victory for our second Team. A brave and spirited performance from our U16s girls in their semi-final bout against a strong and structured Ballyboden side that just wasn't enough on the day to prevent us travelling home disappointed.
