Dubs are well represented in All-Star cast

TIME to don the blue suede shoes. Saturday is TG4 All-Star night at the Citywest.

Dublin lead the nominations with an impressive eleven players in the frame.

It's a reward for a memorable season which saw them reach their first Division 1 League final and then lose the All-Ireland final by a point.

"The girls have put in a huge effort all year. We are all very proud of what they have achieved," states manager Gregory McGonigle.

"In Leinster, nobody came within twenty points of us. We have a very strong squad.

"Our subs would get on most county teams. There is serious quality in Dublin.

"We began our work out in DCU on December 18. If you had told me then that we'd push Cork to the pin of their collar, we would have taken it.

"There's a strong bond there in the group. And they'll be back better than ever next season."

In the meantime, Gregory will be wearing the dickie bow to Saggart.

He hopes the Jackies leave with a generous helping. In the mix are Cliodhna O'Connor, Rachel Ruddy, Sorcha Furlong, Leah Caffrey, Siobhan McGrath, Sinead Goldrick, Noelle Healy, Carla Rowe, Lyndsey Davey, Sinéad Aherne and Lindsay Peat.
