Des praises Dublin's style and substance
THE Laois manager, Des Cooney, is not surprised to see Dublin in the TG4 All-Ireland final.
On their way, the Dubs beat Laois to take provincial gold at O'Moore Park, Portlaoise.
Des was impressed with their overall excellence and industry.
"This Dublin side is very strong and powerful. They have some wonderful players.
"They work hard for each other. Their movement and running off the ball is terrific.
"And they can use possession. They have plenty of players who can take scores.
"They are strong in every position. There's not one weak spot on the team."
Des also praises Dublin's pace and their ability to transfer the ball sharply into the forward line.
"They have the ability to quickly take a hold of a game by getting a burst of scores. They beat us well in the Leinster final, but they can do that to a lot of counties."
Against Laois, Dublin had nine different scorers, and Des fells such a depth of talent puts them
up there among the best in the country. "Dublin have been one of the favourites for the All-Ireland title, and they have justified that."
Des states that teams in Leinster can only admire and learn from playing against such a fine side.
The Laois Lions, and the rest of the province, will be roaring on the Jackies on Sunday week.
