Conan has surgery on foot injury
Ireland's Jack Conan (above) had surgery on his foot fracture in England yesterday.
The complicated nature of the injury means Leinster's number eight will probably miss out on the pool phase of the Champions Cup.
The 2020 Six Nations could well come too soon for Conan to push his case for Ireland as the rehabilitation could last four months.
Loose-head Ed Byrne's neck aggravation "has not quite settled down," according to Leinster coach Leo Cullen.
"It has just been a bit slower than we thought," said Leo Cullen.
"We were hoping he was going to be involved over the last couple of weeks.
"But it has just been week-on-week. It has been pushed out again. There is a break next week and, hopefully he'll be good to go after that.
"But again, we can't say for certain."
There will be no more additions to the squad for Edinburgh this week outside of those who pressed their case with the Leinster As against Connacht Eagles last Friday.
For instance, flanker Scott Penny used that stage at the Sportsground as one to ramp up his match fitness and apply pressure on the impressive Will Connors.
