Shoulder not serious but Dubs ace will miss three League ties
Con O'Callaghan is set to miss the first three rounds of Dublin's Allianz Football League campaign - but his shoulder injury is not as serious as originally suspected.
This latest development will be greeted with relief by Sky Blue supporters, who may have feared the worst after the two-time All Star was injured in the warm-up before UCD's Sigerson Cup victory over Jordanstown last weekend.
A Dublin team spokesperson told the Herald: "We are going to give Con some space to recover from that knock and it is likely to be four to five weeks before we revisit that.
"The injury is not as serious as first suspected. However, he will require a period of rest and rehab for a number of weeks."
O'Callaghan will continue to work with Dublin's medical team and his recovery will be closely monitored during a busy seasonal start for their new manager, Dessie Farrell.
Given the above time-frame, the swashbuckling target man will be absent for their first three league salvoes, taking place on consecutive weekends.
