Chelsea are poised to take this year's spending over the £220 million mark by completing a triple swoop for Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva.
Frank Lampard is being backed with significant funds by the Chelsea hierarchy and is inching closer towards a club-record £90m deal for Havertz, the Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder.
Negotiations with the Bundesliga club have been ongoing for weeks but there is a sense that talks are reaching a conclusion, with Havertz expected to undergo a medical later this week.
A deal for the Germany international will eclipse the £71m Chelsea spent to sign goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao in August 2018.
Chilwell, the England and Leicester defender, is scheduled to have a medical in the next 48 hours as Lampard closes in on a deal for his No 1 target at left-back.
